Pasadena City College Selects SoniClear Gov for Webcasting

June 27, 2005 - The Pasadena Area Community College District Board of Trustees is making it easier to keep up with the business of Pasadena City College. With the adoption of SoniClear Gov digital recording, the Board now posts all of their meetings online for access from the college website.

People in the community can listen to the audio recordings of the bi-monthly PACCD Board meetings from their homes. It’s a service that should promote better communication between the public and the Trustees, according to PCC Vice President Lisa Sugimoto.

“It’s an excellent resource for members of the community who can’t make the Wednesday evening meetings,” said Sugimoto.

The audio webcast can be accessed by going to the Pasadena City College Website (www.pasadena.edu), clicking on the “Community” link, then “Board of Trustees,” and finally “Audiocast of Meetings.” A link to the PCC webcast page is on the Example Recording Page.

The SoniClear Gov software product was selected on the basis of providing an easy and effective way to webcast meetings at a nominal cost. In addition to “getting the message out” to the community, the SoniClear Gov software provides support for the Board Secretary. Replacing the previous method of recording on cassette tape, SoniClear Gov makes it easier to produce meeting minutes. Any point of a meeting can be recalled instantly for detailed transcription, and the digital recordings are stored permanently on space-saving compact disks.
