SoniClear is 100% compatible with Windows 7. However, at this time not all computers properly support Windows 7 correctly because of defects in the internal sound card. As a result, SoniClear may not work correctly on some Windows 7 computers. If you encounter problems running SoniClear on a Windows 7 computer, consult with your computer support staff to ensure that you have the latest audio drivers running on the computer. These are being updated often as problems with Windows 7 software are discovered by Microsoft and the computer manufacturers. Also, be sure to update the Windows 7 operating system itself using Windows Update. When setting up SoniClear, check the recording level to make sure that the microphone volume is loud enough. If the sound level is too low, it may be a device driver problem (see above). It is also possible that adjusting the setting for the microphone will correct the problem. To do this, follow these steps: 1. Right click on the speaker icon in the lower right corner of the screen. 2. Select Recording Devices. 3. Double click on the Microphone icon. 4. Select the Levels tab. 5. Set the Microphone level to maximum. 6. Set the Microphone Boost level to maximum (such as +20db). 7. Make sure that the microphone mute icon is off. Click OK to enable these settings and try the recording again. If the sound level is still too low, consult with your computer support staff or the manufacturer of your computer for instructions on how to upgrade the computer sound card device driver. Please note that Windows XP is still recommended at this time, unless Windows 7 is an absolute technical requirement. Windows 7 continues to be enhanced. This should result in greater reliability of Windows 7 in future releases. Please contact us for assistance if you find that you cannot run SoniClear on your Windows 7 computer. |
